Do your goals need a reset?
HELP! 😩 I've fallen behind and can't catch up!

I'm sure you've seen the television commercials where an individual falls, calls out "HELP! I've fallen and I can't get up!" and then presses an alert button. The alert triggers needed help and someone arrives to save them.
If only we had a similar system to help us when we get off track with our goals. 🤔
Guess what??? We do! 👍🏻
(Cue your happy dance here)
OK, maybe someone won't literally show up at your door but you can follow these steps to get you back on track...
- First, give yourself some grace. Whether you have gotten off track because of something externally or because you just lost your momentum, take a deep breath and stop beating yourself up.
- Second, ask yourself if you still want to achieve this goal. You probably set most of your goals at the end of 2020 or in early January (8+ months ago). It could be that your current goal is not the best way to achieve the results you were looking for.
- Third, what is your new timeline? If you want to continue with your goal (or you have adjusted it slightly), you need to set a new deadline and milestones. The deadline shouldn't feel like a taskmaster but a tool to help you reach your goal. It helps you break your goal down into manageable steps of progress.
Don't get so focused on your timeline or another aspect of your goal that you upend the rest of your life. Properly set goals should stretch you and ultimately improve your life balance.
